2025 Grant Recipients Overview
The Community Education Program provides grants to a range of not for profit organisations to support sustainable education and life skill training programs for disadvantaged Australians under the age of 25. This year, Ansvar has awarded thirteen worthy Australian non-profit organisations with the funding to be used to educate and empower vulnerable youth in need.

National Centre for Childhood Grief: NCCG Adventure Camps for Bereaved Girls & Boys
The National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG) has provided free specialist counselling and care services to bereaved children aged 3-17 years, following the death of a parent, sibling or other close loved one. The death of a close family member is one of life’s most painful and traumatic experiences for children, causing significant risks to their mental health, physical health, family security and educational outcomes.
The NCCG adventure camp program is an immersive therapeutic recreation program designed to promote safe emotional expression, increase communication skills, teamwork and self-confidence for bereaved children and young people.

Sheltered by Grace: Drug Proof Your Kids
Sheltered by Grace is committed to transforming the lives of individuals facing homelessness by providing a safe, supportive environment where they can rebuild their lives. Our mission is to offer more than just shelter – we provide 24/7 supported accommodation, life skills training, and community engagement opportunities to empower individuals to break free from the cycle of homelessness and regain their independence.
The Drug Proof Your Kids programs aims to empower youth with the knowledge, skills and resilience to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Inspiring Hope: Inspire Girls - Transitioning from Care and Leaving Care Workshops
Inspiring Hope is a Children’s, Youth mentoring organisation specifically focusing on girls aged 7-18 in the out of home care system.
The program focuses on girls who are in or are transitioning from Foster Care. The program is split between 2 areas:
- Transitioning from care – for those starting at 7 years old who are going into care for the first time, moveing placements or moving back home to life with another family member. Tailored workshops have been created to help with the anxiety and trauma triggers.
- Leaving care – Workshops for girls aged 16-25 years who are leaving care permanently. These workshops focuses on giving the girls the life skills and knowledge of where to go based on their needs as well as a dedicated mentor for 6 months to provide support during this transition.

In 2 Life: Drive Forward
In 2 Life (Streetlight) helps at-risk adolescents who are gathering at shopping centers and skate parks in the Playford and Onkaparinga Council in Adelaide. These young people are often facing significant life challenges such as family breakdown, homelessness, disengagement from education and mental health issues.
The program helps young people who are facing barriers to independence and employment to gain an essential life skill which is gaining your license. By helping them get their driver’s license, it becomes a critical steps to the participants gaining employment, education and being part in the community.

The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation: Literacy Tutoring for Aboriginal Children Western Victoria
The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation provides literacy, tutoring and mentoring services to young indigenous Australians. They deliver their mission through afterschool homework groups, tutorial groups in remote areas and online tutor.
The program aims to improve the participant’s literacy levels through weekly tutoring during the school term. For unique cases, wherever possible, provide 1 on 1 tutoring.

The Malpa Project: Young Doctors for Life: Seeing is Believing
The Malpa Project empowers young Aboriginal people to have a strong sense of cultural pride, belonging and leadership in order to make positive and healthy life choice and create strong educational and career pathways for their future.
The program is a school based health education program for 9-12 years olds to develop skills and practices that help students become strong and resilient as they will be able to make healthy life choices and sister those in the community to do the same. Through the program they get to learn traditional medicine from knowledge keepers from their community and western medicine from doctors, dentists, paramedics, surgeons, nutritionists and others. Through the program, they visit bush tucker/medicine gardens, markets, hospitals, Aboriginal Medical Services, cultural centres and more. They explore a range of careers, largely in medical/paramedical fields, have their interest sparked and further learning encouraged. They engage with local culture, history and community, and practise what they learn by sharing knowledge with peers and families to help bring about good health and well-being, so becoming Young Doctors themselves, or health ambassadors.

Fight 4 Life: L.I.F.E (Lessons/ Interests/ Fitness/ Essentials)
Fight 4 Youth is an inclusive, multicultural youth centre in Currumbin, that supports a diverse range of youth and offers therapeutic-based programs through physical activities for people of all abilities. Fight 4 Youth aim to build confidence, self-awareness and acceptance through sport, music, art, dance, leadership, mentoring, empowerment, life-skills, community engagement, crime-prevention and programs aimed to reduce domestic violence. It is our goal to strengthen relationships in our community, prevent suicide, reduce crime, domestic violence, anti-social behaviour and positively shape the future of young people.
The L.I.F.E. program seeks to address challenges by teaching age-appropriate practical life skills. The program aims to equip children with the tools to manage their emotions, enhance their focus and listening skills, resist peer pressure, and ultimately make positive behavioural choices.

Grandcarers SA: Grandcarers SA Education and Development Fund
Grandcarers SA’s helps grandparents and kinship careers to be empowered and enabled to provide a safe, secure and nurturing family environment where the children in their care can thrive.
The program aims to provide assistance to grandparent and kinship carers who don’t qualify for additional government help and subsidies due to their type of caring role. The young people within this program are particularly vulnerable to returning to their unstable parents and become part of a negative life cycle. The grandparents and kindship carers are become their new stable home and want to provide them with new opportunities and positive influence.

Emerald Hill Mission Inc.: Education Program
Emerald Hill Mission aims to help disadvantaged young people to encourage them to stay in school and complete high school in order to break the poverty cycle and establish and reach new life goals.
The Education Programs is an outreach program that helps supply a wide range of school supplies to ensure the students can be included in school activities. They also offer counselling and mentoring services to those most vulnerable to ensure can finish high school happy and a productive member of society.

Horse Whispering Youth Program: Horse Whispering - Early Intervention Program For Youth At Risk Of or Already Experiencing Difficulties
Horse Whispering Youth Program aims to create positive changes in the lives of young people and in turn their families too. Their programs have been developed to build self-confidence, embrace their unique strength and cultivate resilience.
The program is for youths who are at risk of experiencing and or are currently experiencing substance abuse and risk of disengaging from school and overall antisocial behaviour. Working with horses aims to provide the youth with new skills, discover their talents and teaching self-reliance and efficacy.

For Change Co.: Pathways for Change
For Change Co’s mission is to create pathways out of homelessness for young people.
The Pathways for Change program offers employments and training initiative through paid, on-the-job training and employment for young people who are facing significant life barriers.

Bravehearts Foundation: Bravehearts Practitioner Online Training Program to Support Youths with Harmful Sexual Behaviours
Bravehearts’ mission is to provide a coordinated and holistic approach to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.
It is a pilot program to test online training free-of-charge to practitioners who specialise in child safety and child sexual abuse. The online eLearning course will allow accessible training to practitioners to compete pre and post assessments as their own page and access to handbooks and additional resources.

Royal Life Saving Society Tasmania: Regional Tasmania Primary School Water Safety Education
Royal Life Saving Tasmania’s mission is to be at the forefront of drowning prevention and water safety education, dedicated to fostering a water-loving nation free from drowning.
The program is an in-person interactive water safety presentation held at the Primary Schools. The students get the opportunity to participate in mock rescue demonstrations, wearing lifejackets along and other activities.
